Centra Health takes over Bedford Memorial Hospital
BEDFORD — Partially shielded from the sun by one of two sprawling tents pitched on the front lawn of Bedford Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, Centra Nurse Betty Johnson stepped back to take in the celebration.
For her, things have come full circle.
Effective midnight July 1, Centra Health took full ownership of Bedford Memorial Hospital, making good on plans announced in January to buy out Carilion Clinic.
